Q:  WHAT IS WORSHIP?

Sri Sri: Singing is not a form of worship.  Our life is worship.  Our breathing.  Our walking.  Everything is worship.  When you are grateful.  Worshipping is what?  When you are grateful, when you are contented.  When there is serenity in you.  That is worship.  And the purpose of worship is to bring these three things:  Gratefulness, contentment, serenity.  Isn’t it?  If your worship doesn’t bring any of these three things, it’s no good.  That’s no worship at all.  And make your whole life worship.  Your walking is  like worship.  You’re chopping vegetables in the kitchen—that’s worship.  So every act of life can become worship.

Qt:  HOW CAN WE BE STRONG & SUBTLE?
Sri Sri :
Can you be both sensitive and strong?  And that’s what we are all here working out.  There are those who think they are very strong, but still we make them very subtle, soft.  And those who are very soft and feel they are wiggly, wiggly, they are strong.  Make them strong.  This is the spiritual knowledge of the path that makes you both subtle and strong.

Qt:  FORGIVENESS & COMPASSION
Sri Sri:
When you  think of forgiving, you normally think of someone as a culprit and you see an intention behind a culprit’s mistakes.  When you have compassion, you recognize the ignorance behind the mistake.  Oh, that mistake was done out of ignorance.

Qt:  DO WE HAVE TO FORGIVE OUR ENEMIES?
Sri Sri:
Do we have to forgive your enemy?  It’s up to you.  If you forgive him, you’ll be complete.  If you don’t forgive him, he gets into your head and he disturbs your sleep.  Why do you let him go into your bedroom and disturb your sleep?  If you want to check him out, better forgive him.  Punish your enemy whatever manner you want to.  But don’t let him punish you.

Qt:  WHAT IS SURRENDER?
Sri Sri:
When you acknowledge your mistakes, when you know that there is a chance for you to improve, and when there is love, you can’t but surrender.  See total…don’t think about total surrender.  Surrender is not an act.  It is a state of your simplest form of awareness.  When you are very simple, utterly simple from inside, free, easy, loose, and have a sense of belongingness, that is surrender.  Hum?  Like the feeling the mother has for a child.  Or a child has for the mother, is surrender.  Do you see what I am saying?  The sense of total at home-ness.

Qt:  WHAT THOUGHTS SHOULD WE SLEEP OVER AT NIGHT?
Sri Sri:
What kind of thoughts you should fall asleep on at night?  You have no choice.  Whatever thought comes, you just fall asleep.  As long as you don’t act on all the thoughts that come to your mind, you are safe.  Don’t worry.  What we have to be careful about is what thoughts we are acting upon and what thoughts we don’t act upon.  What thoughts we sleep upon is immaterial.  Okay, tonight when you sleep notice the last thought, if you can. Of course you can go on from one after another.  And notice the first thought that may come to your mind as soon as you wake up.  If you have had a good sleep, usually they are the same.  If you are singing a particular tune in your mind and go to bed, as soon as you wake up, what tune do you sing?  The same one.

Qt:  HOW DO WE KNOW WHEN TO TRUST?
Sri Sri:
How do you know when to trust?  Hum?  How do you learn to trust?  When you have no doubts. (laughter) When your doubt is always about one thing that is good.  I think I have said it so many times.  Haven’t you heard me?  Trust and doubt.  You doubt that which is good.  You doubt that which is positive.

Qt:  WHERE DOES THE DEPRESSION COME FROM?
Sri Sri:
Where does the depression come from? Just sitting and thinking what about me, what about me?  This is a technique to get depressed.  You just sit and just think about only yourself.  Oh, what about me, what will happen to me.  What will happen to you?  You’ll become horizontal and put in the ground.  And that day you are going to be peaceful.  (laughter)  Better to be peaceful even when you are vertical!  What about me, what about me.  All the time, think only about yourself, that is a good technique to get depressed.  That question comes from cutting off the feelings or suppressed feelings. Can be so many reasons.  But the remedy is So-hum, So, hum.  Kriya, three times, 10 minutes clear up depression patients, they become well.
